Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

When you use The List, we collect information you provide directly: your email address, display name, profile bio, and a unique account identifier. We also collect the places you save to your wishlist, your ratings and visit notes, and the lists you create. When you use map-based features or enable location nudges, we collect your precise location data.

How We Use It

Your data powers the core app experience: showing nearby places on the map, delivering location-based nudges for your wishlist places, and enabling shared lists and friend connections. We use your data solely for app functionality. We do not sell your personal data to third parties and we do not use your data for tracking or advertising.

Third-Party Services

The List uses secure cloud infrastructure for data storage and real-time synchronization. We use Apple's MapKit for map rendering and place search. These services have their own privacy policies governing data they process.

Location Data

Location access is used for two features: showing your position on the Explore map and sending nudge notifications when you're near a wishlist place. Location data is processed on your device for geofencing and is not continuously tracked or stored on our servers. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings or within the app's notification preferences.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and all associated data at any time. To manage your privacy preferences, visit the Profile tab in the app. For data requests, contact us using the email below.
